On behalf of the Aotearoa Maori Surfing team I would like to take this opportunity to thank the New Caledonia Surfing Federation for extending the invitation to attend the 2015 Melanesian Cup. It was an awesome experience for our team to meet and compete against the Island Nations that have been a part of this event for the past 6 years.
To madame President Joelle we thank you for your time and commitment in overseeing and managing the event and the endless hours you contributed at the front and behind the scenes. We sincerely appreciated the time and effort you committed in ensuring the event ran like clock work. Congratulation on a job well done.
To Jonathon cheers mate for all your help and assistance with managing the visiting teams and keeping us on track, helping us with various problems that arose and ensuring we were at the boat ramp on time. We are all truly grateful for your services and expertise in a variety of matters. If you hadn't of done such a great job repairing Al's fin he may have not got that 0.5 score that got him to the podium ahead of you. He owes you one.
To the sponsors Teri, Rockers Surf Shop, Orangina and Seventy One Percent thank you for the various products we received in our registration packs and your support during the event. To the officials Carole, Marine, Dan, Eric M, Eric Sala, JC, Patrica, Mathilde, Pierre, Stephan, Thierry and everyone else that was part of the event. It was awesome to work with such a well organized team.
To ISA head judge Nick (Zippy). Your guidance and expertise was valued by all us judges and we are appreciative to have had the opportunity to work and learn from you. Thank you also to the boatman who gave up their time and crafts to ferry us out to the break and also to all the volunteers for your contribution toward the success of this event. What an awesome effort by you all, you guys rock.
A special thank you to Raphael at the boarding school for being there for us early every morning and until late at night taking care of our needs and ensuring our equipment was safe until we returned from the beach. Cheers bro.
Finally thank you to all the teams and congratulations to all the winners and grinners that made the finals.
Take care everyone we look forward to meeting and competing next year.
Kia tau te rangimarie ki a tatou katou.
